Commercial opportunities
DFAT’s tendering and contracting program to source vendors for Phase Two of the project commenced in 2008. All requests for tender (RFTs) were advertised nationally, including on Austender, with documentation available on the procurement page of the department’s website. The RFTs generated positive responses from the market and resulted in the appointments of:- Parker & Partners - Communications and Public Affairs
- Bovis Lend Lease - Construction, Exhibition and Technical Operations
- International Venue Group - Staffing, Retail and Operations
- George P Johnson - Cultural Program
Final tender
The final tender, for Decommissioning of the Australian Pavilion, was released on 20 February 2009. It was published on the procurement page of the Department’s website, and advertised nationally, including on AusTender.
The Department is committed to a fair and transparent process for the entire project. The request for tender process is expected to:
- provide DFAT with excellent value for money across the range of goods and services required for Expo 2010;
- ensure best practice standards of probity are met throughout the process;
- develop and implement flexible and efficient contract management methods and frameworks which will ensure services are delivered to agreed standards when they are required; and
- provide opportunities to leverage from Expo themes to ensure that Australian products are showcased where appropriate.
Assistance to potential tenderers
To help put SMEs in touch with other SMEs for the purpose of submitting joint tenders, DFAT will host (at no charge) a list of such SMEs and their contact details on this website.
Please note that as the tender program is drawing to a close, all SME contact details relating to previous tenders have now been removed, and only those SME’s who have an interest in the Decommissioning Tender will be listed. All contact details will be removed on the final tender close date of 3 April 2009.
Listing of details on this website is entirely voluntary. Choosing not to list details on this website will not affect a company's eligibility to respond to an RFT. Similarly, DFAT will not grant preferential treatment to companies who list their details on this website.
Please note that:
- DFAT does not in any way endorse or otherwise recommend the companies listed on this site;
- DFAT will not notify listed companies of opportunities in respect of the 2010 World Expo - companies must make their own enquiries; and
- all tender processes will be conducted in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the relevant RFT documentation.
- If you would like your company's details to be included on this website, please send an email with relevant details, including company name, website address, point of contact, email address and phone number to expo2010shanghai@dfat.gov.au.
While DFAT will take care to ensure company details are accurately listed on its website, DFAT accepts no liability for any errors.
Please send an email to the above address if you would like DFAT to add your company's details. DFAT will, at its sole discretion, update the website from time to time.
