Three years to go and Australia's preparations are on track
World Expo 2010 in Shanghai will commence on 1 May 2010 and Australia is on track to be ready. Australia will use the Expo to promote Australia’s national interest and to entertain and educate an expected 7 million visitors to the Australian pavilion.
With three years to go, some of Australia’s best exhibition designers are preparing to submit their ideas for how our pavilion will look and what story it will tell. Submissions are due to be lodged with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on 14 May.
Commonwealth agencies, State and Territory Governments and the private sector are committed to ensuring that the Expo will project a dynamic image of Australia and its capabilities. By early 2008, the trade and investment business program will have taken shape.
Two more major tenders, for communications services and the fabrication, installation and maintenance of the Australian pavilion, are expected to be released by this time next year.
